About this design

The pieces are all individually designed. They are made in two parts, the crizzle base and the cameo top or rim, which are fused together using the incalmo technique. Incalmo requires great precision because the edges of the adjoining parts must have precisely the same diameter.

Millenium piece. The 'crizzle' part of the design is the lower part while the 'cameo' is the band at the top.

Crizzle Cameo Galaxy Rings footed plate

'Galaxy Rings' footed plate, 29 cm in diameter and 2.3 cm high, with blue and gold crizzle, and a clear and frosted rim. The plate was photographed on a black background to make the pattern stand out. Signed on the foot “Timothy Harris Isle of Wight Glass England 2011”. This plate was apparently made at the studio Glass Collectors Day in April 2011 refered to in Mark Hill's blog.
